However, there is a phase in the diet that requires the person to eat less than he or she is used to. From days 1 to 17, a person will be expected to adhere to a low-carb diet, which strictly requires a daily calorie intake of only 1200. This diet claims to help reduce weight by keeping the metabolism high despite the calorie deficit and the lack of carbs and fats in the activation phase of the diet.

Some diet plans revolve around certain fruits that are said to make a person lose weight quicker. Some known superfoods are grapefruit and acai berry. Grapefruit is more accessible because it’s a staple in fruit stalls everywhere, while acai berry can only be bought in supplement form. Most of the hype about these superfoods revolve around the antioxidant contents of the fruits, as well as their potential as appetite suppressants. In diets created with these superfoods, a specific list of breakfast, lunch and dinner foods should be consumed along with supplements, or in the case of grapefruit, a slice or two of the actual fruit.
